Pageau Morel wins the Défi sans auto solo challenge

Pageau Morel won the 2016 Défi sans auto solo challenge

Pageau Morel is proud to have won the 2016 Défi sans auto solo challenge in the Medium Business category for the Montreal, Laval, Lanaudière, Laurentides, Montérégie, and Estrie region!

On September 21, more than 288 organizations participated in this challenge that encouraged the use of sustainable transport solutions. Twenty-seven percent of the 31 Pageau Morel employees who participated in the challenge on that day changed their commute habits to opt for a more environmentally friendly mode of transport. Overall, participants saved more than 160 kg of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which is the equivalent of 14 fewer cars on our roads.

During a conference at the Centre for Sustainable Development (Maison du développement durable) on September 29, the award was presented to members of the Pageau Morel Sustainability Committee consisting of Nicolas Lemire, president of the firm, and Audrey Dupuis, mechanical engineer.

As the first Quebec engineering firm to join the U.S. Green Building Council in 2002, Pageau Morel has always been concerned about its environmental impact. As relevant as this philosophy is today, even Pageau Morel’s founders had embraced it and were minimizing the environmental impact of their operations more than 60 years ago!
