Upgrade, asset maintenance and a new pharmacy

Project description

For the establishment of the asset maintenance master plan, PAGEAU MOREL first conducted a full audit of electromechanical systems including a completion and prioritization schedule, a life cycle analysis of systems and replacement costs.
The audit was conducted for sustainable development purposes and reducing the energy consumption in the two buildings, all while working in close collaboration with the buildings’ managers. Subsequently, several projects were completed.

Challenges and Solutions

  • Special project realized in heritage building that needed an upgrade to current healthcare and infection-control standards, while respecting the client’s budget constraints.
  • Systems and options proposed to reduce the multiple existing problems while being easy to maintain, durable and to be operated by a reduced staff.
  • Construction in occupied buildings.
  • Special constraints due to existing buildings that are over a century old and renovated over the years. These buildings had to be modernized to include avant-garde technologies based on energy savings, heat recovery, water savings and geothermal energy.
  • For the central pharmacy project, integration of spaces and services for the future addition of new medication packaging equipment.
