Energy efficiency study, implementation of measures and standards

Project description

PAGEAU MOREL conducted the electromechanical systems studies, the implementation of measures and standards for this building built in 1975, adjacent to the Eaton Centre in Montreal.
Savings of 40% from the initial invoice after the implementation of the work.

Challenges and Solutions

  • Replacement of water towers by towers of a larger capacity.
  • Replacement of two 500 and 430 tonne centrifugal chillers by three 500 tonne centrifugal chillers and two of 225 tonnes.
  • Upgrading controls and waste heat recovery of two chillers for the building’s heating.
  • Addition of variable speed drives for cold air conduit fans.
  • Addition of fans with hot coil and variable speed for hot air conduits.
  • Replacement of lighting (phase 2, during the retrofit of offices)
  • Replacement of terminal boxes (phase 2, during the retrofit of offices)
