Pageau Morel History

1956
  • Founding of Ingénieurs-conseils Marcel Pageau et Guy Morel
  • Located at 110 Liège Street West (corner of Saint-Urbain)


1957
  • The firm moves to a 5-room office space at 8527 Saint-Laurent Blvd.


1961
  • Opening of an office in Ottawa (Kendall Street) and one in Hull (residence of Philippe Lefebvre), called Pageau Morel Lefebvre


1962
  • Move to more spacious offices (8585 Saint-Laurent Blvd.)

 



1964
  • Year of strong growth – a number of projects for Expo 67 and important mandates such as the Palais de justice in Montréal


1967
  • The firm becomes incorporated!
  • Tourists arrive in Montréal in huge numbers for Expo



1968
  • Pageau Morel has 39 employees (28 in Montréal and 11 in Hull)


1970

  • Start of the IBM era (phase I)


1971
  • Start of the Canadian Embassy project in Yugoslavia (favourite project of Marcel Pageau) that will take more than 10 years to complete!




1973-75
  • Several projects are awarded to Pageau Morel, including the mechanical portion of the Olympic facilities
  • In 1975, Pageau Morel takes on the challenge of completing the electrical installations at the Olympic Stadium on time!


1975-76
  • The offices are almost deserted... Almost everyone is working on either Complexe Desjardins or the Stadium project


1981
  • The Hull office closes after 20 years of service


1985
  • Pageau Morel moves to 210 Crémazie West!


1986
  • Philippe Lefebvre becomes President and Raymond Martin becomes Executive Vice-President


1987
  • Period of modernization in downtown Montréal: 2001 University, Esso/BNP towers, Place Desjardins, etc.


1989
  • Re-opening of an office in the Hull area (de la Carrière Blvd.), in Gatineau


1997
  • Réjean Berthiaume replaces Philippe Lefebvre as President and Roland Charneux becomes Director General
